Gigabyte GA-G41M-Combo and HyperX 1866 8GB DDR3 will it work?

Hi there,
i am currently thinking of upgrading my PC.
currently i use the GA-G41M-Combo motherboard from gigabyte , i wanted to know that if i buy a Kingston Hyperx(1866) 8GB DDR3 ram for my pc will it work ? i dont care if i get a lower clock speed as i am planning to change the motherboard and processor in the near future as well.

yes why not, they will work on 1066 or 1333 if you OC mobo. Make sure you buy 2x4GB kit so your dual channel memory works!

Altho gigabyte motherboards aren't really reliable, especially old ones so i'm giving this as a reference from another user:

be careful though. had a GA-P55-US3L from gigabyte. installed hyperx fury blue and hyperx savage. didn't work, was stuck on a bootloop. i hope you can return just incase it doesn't work. i have cruical ballistix tactical 1333mhz now and it's working fine.

Seems like that particular motherboard has issues with downclocking the RAM if you put a higher MHz ram in to. In theory it will work, but people had issues with that particular board so my advice is buy that ram when you upgrade your PC because I can't tell you that it will work 100%

Just get a new motherboard and CPU.
Judging by the motherboard you have its probably time for an upgrade.

Haha!! well said , actually i will be upgrading soon but i wont be able to buy all the things together due to budget issue so currently i am going to buy the RAM .

So, its like i can buy it and try it on my mobo but are there any dangers of doing so ??? like putting my new RAM in danger ??

No there's none, your pc just wont boot, afterwards you just put your old ram in and that's it

To your question, No they won't work, they are made with high density memory chips that aren't even compatible with the G41, would want low density based sticks like the GSkill NT series of value DRAM (made with low density ICs)
