GIGABYTE GA-M57SLI-S4 heat issues

Anyone here own one of these motherboards. I have been having heating issues with the north bridge heatsinc. Gets to about 40C playing crysis and the whole system shuts down. I got 6x 120mm Scythe Ultra Kaze Fans in this thing. 2 going in the side, 1 taking air in the front. 1 exhaust in the back and 2 exhaust in the top. @ 133cfm
that should be roughly 399 cubic feet of air a minute cycling through my coolermaster 590 case.

Let me know if you found a way around this problem.

I actually have that motherboard and have not had that issue. I would check your bios settings though and see if you have the setting for shutting down because of heat enabled and how high or low that setting is set for. Also, what are your voltages like? Because Logisys is not the best known of PSU's. Maybe the 8800gt is really drawing too much juice and the PSU is switching off.

I had put a 6600gt in it and it still crashed while playing crysis. after it crashes I open my case and the North bridge heatsinc is hot to touch.
I even took of the heatsinc and put some artic silver on it after cleaning it off. didnt help much. I only have a temperature shutdown option for the CPU in my bios. The voltages are pretty dead on. 3.3V rail gets 3.31V. 12V rails gets about 12.04V.
I have had some success as of last night. Its cold up here in Maine from the 4 day rain showers we have been getting. with my windo open I got my CPU running @ 22C, Ram is at 24C and my main board is 27C.
I have a 5.25" display panel on my tower with 3 sensors. I taped the sensor to the bottom of the heatsinc to make sure it got a accurate reading.

Thinking of upgrading to MSI K9A2 CF-F V2 AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X. The heatsinc is huge and wont be in the way of my video card. Might get in the way of my CPU heatsince (O.C.Z Vendetta)

Hmm, may also consider a pci slot cooling fan for right under the video card and if you don't have one maybe a 120 mm exhaust fan. I know on my system I've got like a 250 mm fan blowing in from the side.

I have the same motherboard, with heat issues, too. Yesterday I unmounted the stock cooler, removed the pad (it was in quite bad conditions) and put some thermal paste on the chip. In addition, I removed the "Gigabyte" logo to improve the airflow over the cooler and mounted a Scythe S-Flex 800 into the HDD cage to blow air on it. Now idle temperatures are around 35°C, and load temps (NFS UC) are about 40°C.
