Hey guys,
I`ve recently got a new build and am having trouble with my Gigabyte GA-X99-Ultra Gaming Board detecting all of my Ram. I`m using the latest Bios from the website.
My CPU is an i7-6950X. For RAM, I am using a 4x16gb 64gb kit of CORSAIR Vengeance LED 64GB - CMU64GX4M4C3200C16. It`s DDR-4 3200.
In order to use Quad Channel Memory, I am supposed to use slots 1, 3, 6 and 8 according to the manual.
When putting my Ram in these Slots, the Bios of my board only detects 48 GB of memory. It seems to be a problem with slot 6 as I`ve tried rotating the memory into different slots and it never detects the memory that gets put into this slot.
If put the memory in slots 1 - 4 it detects the full 64gb of ram but it is not quad channel. To me, this means that there is no problem with the ram itself but with slot 6 or compatibility of the ram and mainboard in quad channel mode in general.
I`ve tried various different memory bios settings as well as different bios versions but it doesnt make a difference. The board does not boot as well with just one stick in slot 6.
Any ideas what could cause this or how to fix it?
