I have the above Motherboard with a Intel i3-7100 LGA 1151 Processor. For me to get Win 11 I first have to enable my TPM & then get a i3 8 generation processor. Can anyone recommend any? Thanks.

You can't use an 8th Generation processor on a 7th Generation motherboard. You will need to get a motherboard has a chipset that is compatible with the 8th or 9th Generation CPUs.

Since there are no officially supported 7th Generation Intel processors that means you need both a motherboard and processor that are at least 8th Gen, or higher. For AMD you will need at least a 3000 series or newer CPU and a motherboard that supports fTPU.

There are ways to get around the CPU requirement but they are not officially supported and are not recommended as there are various problems that accompany that hack.

I regret informing you that motherboard will not support 8th cpu.
It's only 6th and 7th gen. You will need a new motherboard along with the cpu. Might be able to reuse the ram.

Windows 11 has had a few issues regarding gaming. Windows 10 is still supported till 2025.

Windows 11 requires
8th gen CPU or above
Hard drive or SSD formated as gpt partition.
TPM 2.0 or PTT active

Look at this website to find your new build used the builder.

You never mentioned if this was going to be gaming pc? If that is a possibility I would bump up the cpu to a i5 to i7.
