I recently upgraded from a Core i5-750 to a core-i5-2500k. The motherboard I am using is a Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 (rev. 1.0). My drive is a Crucial C300 64gb running Win7 64bit Ultimate.

My SSD index scores went from 7.3 to 5.9.

I do not show anything missing in device manager. I have download the correct chipset drivers from Gigabyte's site but it still feels like the harddrive is lacking a little.

I've read things about Intel's Smart Response software and possibly EZ Smart Response Technology software.

Can you guys think of anything that could be missing ?

How much of the SSD's 64 GB is used up (i.e. how much disk free space is left)? Too little disk free space that is remaining will also impact SSD performance.

When you've completed working with your computer do you log off of Windows 7 and leave your computer running so that TRIM's garbage collection can take place or do you immediately shut down and never allow it to take place?

I have more than 35gb free and this a brand new installation of windows.

This is setup as AHCI although I did try this as IDE and it still produced the same results. I tried moving the cable to different ports too.
