Hello there, so my father and I decided to build a whole new sparkling PC, mostly because my old one was hit by a lightning and died, but yes.

The new pc consists of:

Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H
Intel i5 2380p @ 3.3Ghz
Corsair Vengeance 4 GB x 2 1600 Mhz
Radeon HD 5750 (Taken from the old pc)
OCZ ZT750w

The problem is, we have connected everything and made sure it is sitting correctly, but even though the power switch is where it should be, when we turn on the PSU, the fans start running and all that, as if it booted the entire pc, but then it shuts down shortly after, giving no beeps or anything. Pressing the power button afterwards gives no reaction, it stays dead. Nothing comes up on the screen before it dies again.

We'd really like some help with this one, thank you in advance.

Can u reset the BIOS?
Reset the CMOS memory the right way as is described in the motherboard manual using the clear CMOS link with the power cord unplugged.
And when the battery is out, press the power button to discharge all the electricity from the system.

Ah after alot of searching, I found a list of compatible CPUs for the mobo, and I noticed that my CPU (i5 2380p) wasn't on the list. I guess that's why it won't start up then. Thanks for the help anyway, I'll just have to go hunting for a new CPU.
