Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H Rev 1.0 Doesn't support 1000 series GPU?

I'm making this budget build for a mate.

Hardware:

Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H Rev 1.0
i5-3570k
GTX 1050 Ti OC
8GB DDR3 Ram HyperX fury 1600mhz.


Problem is, the mobo somehow doesn't recognize the GPU. Tried several things as updating the bios, switched PCIe spots etc. Tho, the fans do spin. So the gpu gets power. Brand new GPU, outta the box.

Can't find it @ hardware nor can i install Nvidia driver because Gforce Xperience tells it has none.


I followed these steps already but it didn't pay off;

After updating the BIOS to the latest version (which I think was F14), I shut down the machine, took out the card, and bridged CMOS to reset the BIOS to factory settings. After that, I started it up and ran up to logging into windows using the integrated graphics output (just to make sure the BIOS was, in fact, working properly). Having done THAT, I restarted, disabled the integrated graphics in the BIOS menu, and did a standard save-and-exit. This made it very unhappy, as it recognized (correctly) that there was no graphics output available. After that, I shut it down once again, installed the 980, bridged CMOS a third time, and then the card was recognized perfectly happily and Geforce Experience installed the drivers without a hitch. Haven't had any problems with it since then.''

Still unsure how though.. I did a CMOS reset using the jumper (before that I would use the button on the top right of the board). It would still boot on the igpu. But reading that thread, I noticed something about forcing PCIE3.0.. Found a setting in Miscellaneous Setting -> Peg Gen3 Configuration and set it to Gen3 instead of auto. I also had to disable the igpu and set init to PEG.

I'm also using the modded bios from Nwanko. At this point I'm too afraid to change anything in this perfect balance that made it work!''
