Hackintosh machine with Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H mobo.
How do I clear the boot list that appears when pressing del key on startup? I have about 20 entries in my list, and almost all of them are old drives or thumbdrives that I no longer have.

How do you delete these entries so I only see what's currently connected? I have 1 OS drive and 3 internal storage drives.

You need to go to the drive manager of your machine and delete all the boot partitions that are logged there

Hmm, is that connected to the motherboards boot list? Seems like there's an old cache or something that would need to be cleared on the motherboard?

A lot of these entries that are shown are from years ago, but I only recently wiped the OS drive and reinstalled a new OS

My fault. It's the list you see when pressing F12 on startup (see pic)

But were you formatting the old partitions and deleting them as you go or leaving them.... Everytime you make a bootable device the ssd/hdd makes a boot partition to make the next boot cycle quicker. The mother board hold no boot memory.... The storage drives hold the boot partitions list.... And all the extra partitions your drive has are probably the extra boot entrys your seeing

I guess I can't post a picture on this forum?
I had different os drives on this system, so somehow the motherboard is keeping a list I think. This list is showing thumbdrives that were used once and aren't even connected to the machine. There's only one partition on my os drive.

Ahhh I see what your talking about, have you tried to rest the CMOS,

With the PC off, unplug psu remove the lithium battery from mobo and hold power button on the case for 30s x2

Then reseat the battery followed by power cable

I'll try the reset, thank you :)

30s x 2 Do you mean hold for 30s, release and hold another 30s, or just hold for 60s ?

Hold for thirty release hold for another 30 verifys there's no power left

I thought that's what you meant :)
I tried that, didn't make any difference. Someone from Tonymac's site sent me this thread:

Loos like you have to dig in a little more , but might be worth it. Thoughts?
