I have the following:

Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 7 - Rev 1.0
Bios Version F22m
Intel I7-6700 @ 4.00 GHz
Corsair DDR4 - (2x8) CMK16GX4M2B3000C15

When I install both Ram i get a C1 error.

I know both sticks are good each one boots on its know but not both together.

I tried them in the red slots and black slots.

I pulled the CPU and didn't find any bent pins on the socket.

Both the Gigabyte and Corsair website show they are compatible.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I had this same problem with this same motherboard. Install one stick of ram into the black lane and see if you get into bios without errors. Then set the XMP profile for the rated speed. Then shut down and add the second stick to the second black lane. If it does not work on the black lanes, then try the red. This usually signals a memery stick problem.

tbeals22 - I'm having the same problem today with the same motherboard and same ram. I think something destroyed the compatibility in a recent bios update. I just ordered parts to replace mine and I guess I'm going to have to do a system wipe. 🙁

The F22M bios update seems to have completely broken my PC. I've tried resetting the CMOS 4 different ways.. Reseated my ram, tried booting with each stick individually in every slot. Been working on it for a good 6 hours today. Can't get any display to be detected from external GPU or internal. Fans spin and lights come on, but the monitor detects nothing and "C1" is all gives me before starting to boot cycle.

Gigabyte is always a nightmare.
