Yea go to your motherboards manufacturers website and search the latest bios for your motherboard and also the drivers. It should tell you how to do the bios update if not just google it. Usually its done via a usb drive and your bios screen or sometimes from windows itself.
Did the bios update and board driver updates and it has seem to do the trick, running good, thanks for the info. Was told by Computer builder that the pci slot was 2.0, but after looking up info on intel board DH77EB looks like the slot is 3.0 , which is good, at least that is what i get from the info . Intel says as long as its a generation 3 or better i7 chip the slot will be 3.0 compatible. I down loaded the manual for the DH77EB motherboard from intel and thats what I understand from reading it, but with my limited knowledge on this kind of stuff I wouldn't bet the house on it. Again thanks
Below is what I read from manual
from intel manual for board DH77EB
"• Integrated graphics support for processors with Intel HD Graphics: ― High Definition Multimedia Interface* (HDMI*) v1.4a
― DVI-I v1.0
― DisplayPort* v1.1a
• Support for a PCI Express* 3.0 x16 add-in graphics card
Note: PCI Express 3.0 is only supported by 3rd generation Intel Core
processor family processors"
Intel Desktop Board DH77EB Technical Product Specification
1.3.1.2 PCI Express x16 Graphics
3rd generation Intel Core processor family processors support PCI Express 3.0, 2.x, and 1.x and 2nd generation Intel Core processor family processors support PCI Express 2.x and 1.x:
• PCI Express 3.0 with a raw bit rate of 8.0 GT/s results in an effective bandwidth of 1 GB/s each direction per lane. The maximum theoretical bandwidth of the x16 interface is 16 GB/s in each direction, simultaneously, for a total bandwidth of
32 GB/s.
