GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 970 Windforce 3x Heat pipes uneven coverage?

I have the Gigabyte GTX 970 Windforce 3x OC (non-g1 gaming) and just recently I noticed that the heat pipes only appear to cover half of the actual gpu, seen here:

You can see where the thermal paste extends above and below the two heatpipes.

Will this effect performance in any way? I don't plan to overclock heavily, but will this uneven coverage be anything to worry about? The gpu stays 60 degrees C at full load for hours, but will constant uneven cooling for extended periods of time damage my card?

Ok, but my concern is that the heat pipes do not come into direct contact with the entirety of the gpu.
Compare an Asus Strix:

and the G1 Gaming version:

where the heat pipes contact the full "square" of the gpu. Copper conducts better by contact than the aluminum (i'm assuming its aluminum) so the middle half of the gpu that touches the copper will be cooler?

What I really just need to know is whether the two heat pipes running along the middle of the gpu will equally cool the entire processor, despite the uneven contact.
