Hi, I'm really confused with this I've tried alota stuff already.

Specs:
(These are totally new except for the monitor)

    i5 4460
    Gigabyte 1050Ti
    Rave 500W
    Gskill 8GB
    Gigabyte H81M-DS2

Monitor is AOC - 931Sn (VGA)

My monitor won't get along with my GPU even with a converter DVI-D to VGA, I bought two types. The one with the square thing and the ordinary adaptor just to make sure it's not it.

What happens is that it just displays black screen and shows "No Signal" with the DVI-D to VGA adaptor while with the ordinary one it completely says "Cable not Connected".

Is there anyway to make this thing work together? -_-

Oh forgot, I tried resetting CMOS, fully formatted OS Drive too.

Oh last thing too, the monitor works with the onboard graphics and my old one r7 260x when i tried it on the build. O_O

Solution
you need an active convertor since the new cards don't support an analog signal anymore. that's why you're not getting a signal.

you need one that plugs in and actively changes the signal back to analog. no idea what you have "The one with the square thing" but it needs to specify "active" convertor

Exactly , a lot of people make this error.

this one is https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Cable-Matters-HDMI-to-VGA-Active_1996884735.html note it specifies "active" in the description.

not really a noob thing so don't worry. just something new folks have not had to deal with before. this is a new thing to pascal cards while older generations still use the old adapters no problem :)

sorry for my slow response but monday night football is on and baltimore is trying hard to get back in the game :) 2 td's in 1.5 minutes sure helps!!!

Thanks! It's working now! I went off to buy one and tested it. It's going smooth, thanks for the fast response. :)
