My GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1060 Xtreme Gaming 6GB GV-N1060XTREME-6GD wont work with any newer nvidia drivers above 376.19. it works after a update, but when i restart my PC after i start a game and do something, like go to multiplayer, or single player, the game will either get white squares, black squares. (nvidia driver 376.33) now with the new driver (nvidia driver 378.49) when i joined a server in rust I got colorful dots then the game crashed. (all games crash after going into the game, but not on the menu). please help this is a troubling issue.

my system specs:

8 gb ram

Gigabyte gtx 1060

Intel i5-4440

stock Alienware hard-drive (from old PC)

Samsung ssd 850 evo pro 256 gb (OS installed on it, and my games)

please tell me if you need more information, or have a idea

just to be clear, my GPU only works with drivers 376.19 and below. for driver 376.33 i got either white or back squares. now for the new new driver 378.49, hoping for a fix, what i got instead were colorful dots on my screen. after 2-3 seconds after the squares appeared (or dots for the new driver) the game crashed. I cant play at all, and I hate having to revert to older drivers.

Solution
most likely something to do with clocks/voltage not matching/adjustments to slow etc..
would explain why the games crash and you can see graphic errors.
run the .19 and dont worry not having the newest one.
you can try uninstalling all nv drivers, reboot, use DDU to remove any nv related things and all monis.
reboot, then install the latest one and see if it helps.

get the latest one 17.0.5
