Recently I upgraded from my old AMD R9 390x to the Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 gaming, I overclocked the card to +100mhz on the core and +500 on the memory with max power draw increase and temp increase, to say the least it ran much better before I downloaded Nvidia Geforce Experience.
When even when overclocked to 2ghz on the core it still doesn't perform quite as well as my 390x did, in WoW I could sustain fps of in between 70-100 in Dalaran, and in raids it would be around 120. (Same settings as my 1070 is now using)
My 1070 usually sits between 50-100 fps inside Dalaran and in raids it will be around 100-160.
CSGO has some strange issue, when opening the game it's like Nvidia Geforce experience does something that's almost like it switches profiles to something ridiculous (My screen gets insanely bright and my fps gets cut in half)
DOOM however runs phenomenally better than my 390x performed (including both OpenGL and Vulkan).
The temperatures have not surpassed 70c at any time.
Benchmarks: with +100mhz on core and +500 on memory
Unigine Valley: Min FPS = 47.2, Max FPS = 212.1, Average FPS = 145.1 / Score = 6071 / 66c /
GTA V runs choppy
My system specs are:
I5 6600k @ 4.4ghz
Asus Z170-A
Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 gaming
EVGA 750w P2
Tri-Monitor setup:
LCD TV on the left @ 64hz via DVI-HDMI
ASUS VG248QE in middle @ 144hz via Display port
ASUS VN248q-p on the right @ 60hz via HDMI
