Gigabyte GTX 660 OC Problems......

Ok, so I've had this graphic card (Gigabyte GTX660 OC 2GB) for about a month now, there have been no issues whatsoever from gaming high intensity games like Bioshock Infinite or Skyrim etc.... however with the recent Nvidia Driver Update 335.23, I fear that my card might actually be permanently damaged. :S

After updating the card, Whenever i play high intensity games, or just normal games like league of legends sometimes, my whole computer just turns off. Just almost as if someone pulled the plug. Pretty sure its not my PSU, I am running a Corsair TX650, a respectable brand for PSU's and there havent been any issues so far until now with the old driver updates.

Can anyone help me solve this problem? I'm still a newbie, ive read on other forums and this forum that many people have had issues with this card and im upset i havent done any research on the card before purchasing it. 🙁

This has been my first computer build, and this is the first problem i have encountered so far. Do I have to buy a new graphic card?

Ive read some stuff about doing clean installs or complete removal of the driver, but im not sure how. I tried doing a system restore to no avail as well as uninstalling the driver and reinstalling the factory drivers that came with it originally that was working also to no avail 🙁

Need some help here

Gigabyte GA 970A-D3P
Corsair Vengence 8GB RAM
Corsair TX650
ADATA SSD 256GB
ANTEC 900 Case

Roll back to a different driver version, just install a different version, try again. It could be a component failing that just coincided with the new release of a driver. But randomly shutting down during decent usage is a PSU going bad a lot of the time, even reputable brands have bad eggs in their batches.

So i tried doing a clean install for the original drivers and I tried playing a game like dota 2. it worked for about 25 minutes as i was watching the timer then it shut down itself again. I'm rulling out Overheating because everything was well under 50 degrees C when i was gaming.

How can i rule out GPU failure? I'm skeptical of it being the PSU because everything was fine until the instalation of those nvidia drivers. I dont want to waste money and buy a PSU to find out it was really the GPU or vice versa. just buying extra parts i dont need. If i want to replace a part i want to replace the one thats defective.

I feel like the PSU is the thing thats giving me the issue atm. which im surprised since Corsair is a respectable brand. I might pick up a CX750 if thats the case. either that or im going to pick up a GTX750TI as a replacement for my current card even though its faster.

You could pick up a PSU Tester and see if your PSU is reading bad
