Gigabyte gtx 660 ti 3gb problem

so I got my pc together and now I got to the part of plugging the PCIe power connectors to the 6 pin connector on the top of the graphics card, well there is two power connectors, one being a 6 pin, and the other being a 6+2 pin, which one do I plug it into? just the 1 6 pin or just the 1 8 pin or both?

you can plug the 1x 6 pin in or the 6 pin of the 6+2 pin in. Both will work.

I've done that many times when changing and swapping cards about and never had any problems. Just make sure everything is plugged back in correctly before powering up again.

Assuming that your PSU is up to the job, you could have a faulty card.

you must connect all pins (6 and 6+2) as the card needs all that power. you wrote it as if it was optional to connect just 6 or 6+2 pins.
