Gigabyte GTX 760 3x OC Rev 2.0 or Asus r9 280(non x) DirectCU II OC

Hello guys.
2 days ago i built a pc for a friend of mine.
The Specs were
PS : 550 Watt
Ram : 8gb
CPU: i5 4570
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 760 3x OC Rev 2.0

So I have been thinking about it and thought about how i could make it better.

So i thought about if it would have been better if switched out the cpu with a i5-4460 and the gpu with an Asus r9 280.

I feel kinda bad atm because i read about both of these cards and it seems like the r9 280 is slightly better. He isnt planning on buying a second monitor tho.
My friend could still replace the gpu if he wants to. Do you guys think it would make much of a difference?

Don't worry about the CPU. If you really want to upgrade the GPU I'd go with a GTX 970 or R9 290. But neither is necessary at this point. When asking for graphics card recommendation please remember to include the resolution. For now I am going to assume 1080p.

Yes its 1080p. I tryed to keep the Budget about the same, so i tried to look for a gpu for the same price. Im just thinking about if it would be worth, if my friend would send the card back and buy the r9 280.
