Hello everyone.
this is my first post here in toms and I need some help to choose which card I am going to buy.
I want to upgrade my graphics card to GTX 760 or 770 only with gigabyte windforce brand and I am confused which one to go with.
Can some one mention which one is better in terms of price/performance and other important factors.
It is good to say that I have old pc specs with a 1440*900 widescreen monitor and I won't go for AMD series.
thanks

Solution
If you are only using a 1440x900 monitor, then the 760 is probably the best choice, both cards are great price/performance wise, and you could get either if they were within your budget and not have made a bad choice, but at less than a 1920x1080 resolution, a 770 is overkill, best to save the extra money for now.

yeah I'm using 1440*900 and for sure I won't go for higher res soon so do you think a GTX 760 Windforce 3x 2GB will answer my gaming needs in 2-3 years @ 1440*900 Resoulotion ? I want to play games @ ultra or high with it @ mentioned resoulotion

Definitely

Well, you never know what the future holds. Not only will games be more demanding in the future, but you also might decide to get a bigger monitor some day. If 1440p and 4k gets a bigger hold on the market, regular 1080p monitors might become much more affordable for example. You might also want to get the cheaper GPU know and upgrade it some time in the future to a much faster version for the same price if you have a good enough CPU.

You certainly don't "need" a 770. It all depends on your future plans and how much you might need the money for other things.

No problem. And if you haven't seen this, then you should take a look at it:

Techpowerup guys always do nice and legit reviews on 900p resolutions and here the above link shows the performance of the card you're gonna buy, that is GTX 760- specific gigabyte model.

As for the future, imo that's where SLI comes under play and you could slap another of these cards which will be much more cheaper after some years. Otherwise generally after 4-5 years PC gamers usually try their best to setup a new latest build altogether.

My future plan for next two years is to buy a better High end graphics card like 870-880 and upgrade other pc specs for more performance.
at least for next two years I won't go for higher res so I think it is useless to buy 770 on this pc and wasting about 100$.
