Hey guys,

Looking to upgrade my GPU with a budget of around AU$600. Gigabytes Super Overclock GTX680 fits this price range perfectly.

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1377&products_id=21450

I would be sold, but I am apprehensive to buy a single card these days with the current rise of Crossfire and SLI. I haven't been able to find any conclusive information on whether there are any competitive SLI or crossfire configs that fit into my price range.

My current system is as follows:

i7 2600k OCd to 4.2Ghz
ASUS Maximus IV Extreme
16Gb RipJaws 2133 DDR3
Corsair Hydro H80i
Patriot Wildfire 120Gb SSD
Seagate Barracuda 3TB
750Watt PSU whose brand I cannot remember

Currently have a PowerColor HD6970 in there. Rather than letting it collect dust, are there any options for PhysX or some type of dual GPU setup?

Any advice/suggestions would be awesome!

Thanks

2 660ti would give a bit better performance and that fits just a bit over your price range. That said I'd still go with a single 680. It gives room to upgrade down the road with 680 SLI. You go 660ti SLI now and you have pretty much hit the ceiling.

can I use any 680 with SLI effectively? The Gigabyte SO edition is quite pricey

Yes you can use any 680 but if you get 2 different ones and the clock speeds don't match the faster one will downclock tothe slower speed. I'm a fan of the EVGA cards, you don't need a speical edition or a factory overclocked card. Just get a basic 680 and overclock it yourself if you need to.
