gigabyte H81m-ds2 + i5 4460 or i5 4690

Hello just wanted to know if this budget motherboard is ok paired with an i5-4690 non-k version or i5 4460. . some people adviced me to use B85 models but its more expensive. but i already have a gigabyte H81m ds2 and wanted to upgrade the proc only. . . is it compatible?

Yep, its compatible. If you intend to overclock, go with a z97 model Motherboard (get the k version i5 as well). Other than that, it should be fine if you aren't interested in overclocking.

the motherboard supports both CPU if you want to upgrade.

Now, i would go for i5 4690. Higher turbo speed and higher clock speed against the 4460.

Either processor is fine. Assuming they are the same price I would get the 4690 because it's a tad bit faster.

The only issue you may encounter is that some H81 models may have an older BIOS that does not work with Haswell refresh out of the box. The odds are pretty low, but if you are buying one that has sat on a shelf for 3 years it is possible.
