Gigabyte HD 7950 vs Gainward GTX 590

I have as a gift from my sister, I do own both of the graphics cards one came with the computer and the HD 7950 I have.
Overall specs:
I didn't look at the CPU yet since I didn't want to take off the h60
But I think its a first gen i7
Mobo Asus Sabertooth x58
RAM 60gb's XMS3 Corsair ram
PSU Corsair HX1000

Basicly im looking for advice on what should I do, should I stay on my GTX 590 or swap out the HD 7950, I'm looking for better performance in videogames at 1080p.

the 590 is faster in games that support sli


you could easily overclock the 7950 to match it though, and have none of the sli issues.

So the 7950 would take the cake overall? Because I heard that the 590 is one power hungry card
