GIGABYTE HD 7950 WindForce 3X OC Questions.

Here is the specs of my Rig.

My question is, what is this card comparable to in terms of invidia? I feel like this card is holding down my rig in terms of gaming. I can play dota2 and league of legends on ultra high settings perfectly but when i try to play mmorpg games like runescape and W0W i can lag spikes frequently. All drivers and bios are updated and temperatures are all below 50 degrees. If this is the cause, im thinking about upgrading to a gtx 960-980. Thanks!

The HD 7950 is supposed to play Runescape without a single hick-up. World of Warcraft on the other hand is Nvidia optimised thus it performs a lot better with Nvidia graphics cards.

The closest equivalence to the R9 280 (Or HD 7950) is probably the GTX 760. In the modern era It's close to the GTX 960.

Hmm, very strange then. I don't why its doing that on runescape. Even on medium settings, I still get lag spikes occasinally.

I'm sure you can change from OpenGL to DirectX in Runescape. Try to switch between them and the problem should be gone.

I remember having a similar issue in that game with an R9 270 but once I made a change, and I think it was switching to DirectX, all my problems were gone.

To be fair I don't think you need to upgrade. What you got now is good.

I tried that and its still the same, im on directx. Thanks anywase

Just play around with the settings. Also try to change Vsync to on or off. One of those graphics options worked for me. Good luck.
