This is a long one guys (*sigh*)
I had an amd based system with a copy of windows 8 that I upgraded (for free) to windows 10.
I just built a system with a skylake 6700. I am using a Gigabyte Z170m d3h mobo.
I bought an ssd, inserted it in the new system and installed a brand new copy of windows 10 because I couldn't transfer the amd product key.
But anyway I installed the drive that I had in my amd system in the new one and the mobo boots windows from my old drive along wit all the things I had on it...
Im confused because that license should be linked to my amd mobo
and the only way I can boot from the ssd is If I unplug the old harddrive.
I just want to boot windows from the ssd and use the other drive for games but this is quite puzzling... Thankx

Solution
with windows use the disk management command and look at the partions on both drives. look for the system restore partion. if it on the hard drive that the drive with the bootable files. to fix this you have to unplug the hard drive then wipe all the partions off the ssd using windows installer advance mode. then in the bios make sure booting off windows partion on the ssd.
