Hello I built a computer with a GA-Z87X-UD4H, an Intel i7 4770k, and 8Gb of DDR3 1600mHz Ram.
I have been using the computer without error for about a month however just the other day I turned the machine on and it froze at the Gigabyte Boot Screen with an 99 code showing on the motherboards code display. I restarted the machine and it worked fine no error then about a week and a half later the same thing, it froze then restart fixed it. Does anyone know what I need to do to fix this problem? I am not overclocking at all it is just the default settings. The only thing that I know might have changed is that I had to do 3 Mobo driver updates in order to get Internet, USB 3.0 and The Intel INF installation to fix the SM Bus Controller Driver missing message.

The Manual says code 99 means "Super IO initialization."
Not a clue what that means...

TIA

Solution
It may not effect the system one way or the other since it's windows 7. Since you have a specific error code and from what I can find it is a I/O error I would check with gigabyte to confirm that is the correct update or if they can send you a windows 7 specific firmware/driver update for the issue.
