I'm thinking of upgrading my mobo and CPU to a Gigabyte - Z370P D3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
and a i5-9600k, but pcpartpicker says that the Mobo might need a bios update to work with the cpu, and I might need to use a 8th gen CPU to upgrade, but I don't have 8th gen CPU and I was wondering if anyone knows if Gigabyte has rolled out 9th gen cpu support on its Mobos. Thanks in advance.

Solution
Yes BIOS’s have been released for Z370 to support 9th generation cpu’s but unless you can get confirmation that the motherboard has one of the newer BIOS’s you are going to have a problem. Who knows how long the motherboard you buy has been sitting in stock somewhere.

To avoid issues your are better off going for a Z390 motherboard unless you have access to an 8th gen cpu or confirmation that the Z370 has a 9th generation compatible BIOS.
