I just bought a new Gigabyte board and am having some issues. When I boot I get a bios checksum error intermittently. I have tried updating the bios to the latest version as well. In the bios it is not detecting 3 of my voltages including 12.5 even though it is plugged in and and required for boot. I am runnning the ram in slots 1 and 2 which is dual ram(faster). I tried going to 1 and 3 slots which is single config and then my game crashed when i tried to play it. I switched back to slots 1 and 2 and the game worked but still get the intermittent checksum error. My com ports have said "failed to start" ever since i bought it. They are enabled and i checked for conflicts and upgraded chipset drivers. Its a brand new board and 550 watt ANTEC ps. Could bad ram be causing all this?

Kind of strange you don't get voltage readings on three of your rails, plus checksum errors, and com ports notworking. I'd be leaning more towards a bad board right now. :frown:

Since it sounds like you get your computer to boot the majority of the time, you could also try using a program like memtest to check your RAM.
