Gigabyte Motherboard prob with MSI 1080

Hi, Have an old computer, 5 years old with a Gigabyte P67A-UD5-B3 motherboard. Just bought a MSI GTX 1080 but the mother board doesn't recognise it. red light on MB. Hope I haven't damaged anything? BIOS is version 6.00, W7, i7 2600 CPU. any help ?

Sorry, 1,000 W Corsair Hx-1000 ATX, 80 plus certified.

try connecting the 1080 in another PCIe slot and see if you get the same results.

you have more than enough juice with that PSU.

Thank YOU Frank, you're worth more money, you were the only one to solve my problem. you don't put the 1080 in the first / main PCIe slot, it has to go in the other one with different end clip. then new drivers will be downloaded and bob's .. frank's your uncle !

Those guys over @ MSI are clueless.

Perhaps try contacting Gigabyte themselves and see if they can suggest any other BIOS versions that would be compatible with your motherboard

You said you have version 6 of the BIOS why not try the latest?
