Gigabyte motherboard replacement

I have a custom built computer with a GIGBYTE GA-Z87X-UD3H motherboard I5 cpu with 32gig of DDR 3 sdram. The 97x would be the next step up but I can't find one to buy. will any other brand of board work

Unless you buy the same exact board, you'll most likely have to reinstall windows. You may get away with it if the board has the same chipset.
