I have an Ultra MB with 3 x Samsung M.2 SSD drives - all with the same name showing in UEFI

So I have no way to know which one to choose when using <F12> to select a drive to boot from.

Is there any way to give unique names that the UEFI will display -or- see what M.2 slot the drive you want to choose from is in - when using <F12> to choose you boot drive?

Thanks for your help, i am guess the answer is no. which means next dice i buy will not be a Samsung M.2 SSD.

If you haven't installed the OS onto the platform, remove all of your drives except for the one you wish to install the OS onto. Once you've installed Window 10 or 11, you should see Windows Boot Manager show up alongside the drive it's installed onto. Power down then add the drives back into your platform, then get into the OS and initialize the drives.

Also, you can't rename a drive while in BIOS. You can rename a drive in the OS.

Drives are enumerated in BIOS/UEFI with Drive 0 as M.2 slot closest to CPU and rest as Drive 1, 2 etc. Typically you want first (Drive 0) to be used for booting and OS because it's usually fastest getting PCIe lanes straight from CPU.When installing windows, just chose Drive 0. After Windows installation it will show in BIOS as something like this "UEFI Windows on Samsung 990pro" for instance.
