This mobo has a pci-e 2.0 16x slot and a 4x one

I'm wondering how much would the x4 slot slow a 5750

if I wanna get another 5750 to run in crossfireX?



for now i pretty much came to the conclusion to wait for the 6k series and get a 5870 or gtx460

I think you would get a performance hit, about 20%. Even more so because its CF. CF has poor scaling when the lanes don't match. nVidia still somehow copes up.

When installing a new card, I simply run driver sweeper, and install the new Nvidia drivers right?

will it delete catalyst and everything related?

Yes! That's all. Just reboot in between! The uninstall the install process!

You really have no choice as far as a gpu goes since your mobo isn't true xfire.
A GTX 460 is an excellent choice in either form 768mb or 1gb.
Unistall ATI Manager in ADD/REMOVE Programs first.
Then run Driversweeper in safemode to purge the remaining ATI files.
Install new Nvidia gpu and drivers after.
