gigabyte r9 270x 4gb problems

I just recently bought components for a new build and after installing my GPU the fans won't spin they try but don't start. I don't have any ram installed and didn't when I tried to start the system. Is that why the card won't boot? I was just trying to see if anything was faulty before I continue ordering and building my system.

CPU: amd fix quad
Mobo: MSI gaming
Ram: currently none
GPU: r9 270x 4gb
Psu: ultra 750 gold.

Yes, you need at least 1 stick of RAM for the PC to boot up.

If you have your manual for the motherboard lying around, take a look at that to see which slot needs a stick of RAM, in order to boot.

you need ram for system to boot.. or else it wont work
