Here are my system specs:
i5 3570k
asus sabertooth z77
corsair hx750 PSU
16 gb gskill ram
gigabyte radeon hd 7870 1100mhz OC edition

I am thinking of purchasing another gigabyte radeon hd 7870 and go for a crossfire configuration, but I am worried about the microstuttering effect.

For those that currently have crossfire configurations (it would be wonderful if you are using the same gpu that i am), how is micostuttering in your games (bf3, crysis 2, crysis3, guild wars 2, skyrim) using AMD's 13.1 drivers?

I have read a lot of articles online, and the microstuttering is really a turn off if it is bad. I have also come across an article on tom's hardware about a program called "Radeon Pro" that pretty much nullifies any traces of microstutter using dynamic v-sync, but I want to know what each of your experiences are with this program.

How is microstuttering without Radeon Pro but with enabled in-game vsync options?

Thanks in advance.

I'm using 2x Gigabyte 7970 CF at the moment and all I can say is that I don't really notice any microstuttering whatsoever. When I ran the cards for the first time I have to say that the microstuttering was there and the fans were LOUD. Anyway, I downloaded MSI Afterburner and enabled the RivaTuner tool, limited FPS to 60 and made a nice fan profile for myself.

Now they're completely silent and work just fine with most games. Some games still have some minor issues running in Crossfire, but nothing world breaking.

Thanks for your quick reply!

If there is no microstutter, I will definitely go for the crossfire.

Have you tried Radeon Pro?

I haven't tried it yet. From what I've heard, the Radeon Pro fix includes limiting your FPS to 50 and works even better than a simple FPS limiter. I guess if I had no other choice I could try it out, but I don't think it's necessary, at least for now.

Honestly they are great card's, with my system with 2 of them in Crossfire i only get microstutter when i enable Vsync in BF3 but thats the only game i get it with so for now i just have to deal with fan noise while playing bf3 but love the cards
