[SOLVED] Gigabyte RTX 3070 Gaming OC heat problems

Is it normal that this GPU goes to 83C stock and hits 100% fan speed?
Open air bench

Any known problems with this gpu? should I go ahead and change the thermal paste?
Can't RMA, since it's not entirely new.

Tried to undervolt it, results:
850mv, 75% fan speed Max 65C
850mv, 65% fan speed hits 83C and throttles, odd to me.

Stock it runs at 1081mv and throttles when it hits 83C

Try to repaste first. When you mention it is not exactly new does that mean you own this card for sometime already or get it used?

If it throttles, then it is not good. You can try to repaste the GPU and change the thermal pads. My other system is with 3080 Gaming OC from Gigabyte in a PureBase 500 (not a good airflow case) and never goes above 75-76.
Are you reaching that temps in benchmarks or in gaming ?

I have a 3070 vision oc with no manual OC , an airflow case and naver get above 70 in plague tale max settings 270w power consumption
You need to precise when did this start. Is the card brand new ? What bios ? etc ..

IMHO if you change the termal paste, it is going to drop the temps. When I change the air cooler on my 3070Ti Tuf with water block, at first the temps were great and after 1-2 months they have started go up. After a repaste everything go back to normal (50⁰) and after maybe 4 months since then - no change. So badly applyed paste can rise the temps. You are not loosing anything other then time and a few bucks for good paste if you try it.

Paste had dried up which caused the high temps.
