Gigabyte RX570 poor fit in FD R5 case

I have a Fractal Design Define R5 case with a Gigabyte Aorus Z370 Gaming 7 mobo and Gigabyte Aorus RX570 4G gpu installed in PCIEX16. The ports on the RX570 are extremely close to the borders of the expansion slots on the back frame of the R5 case, meaning it is tight to get the HDMI cable in as it knocks against the edge of the expansion slot frame if you try to plug it in horizontally; and also with most DisplayPort cables it seems you cannot completely insert them into any of the 3 DisplayPort sockets on the GPU, because the expansion slot frame is in the way, meaning the teeth don't grip and they can easily be pulled out. I include photos. In the 3rd pic I removed the screws from the GPU and forced the cable all the way in to demonstrate how bad the discrepency is (did not break anything lol).

The miniDP cable that came with the monitor (a rather cheap third party cable) had an usually long DP plug (3rd pic, cable on right), which inserted fully and gripped. However, this seems to be the exception rather than the rule as the VESA approved StarTech DP cable would not insert fully (cable on left).

Neither manufacturer is going to admit to any design problems and they should be fairly standard fit. As the GPU lines up with the screw holes on the case perfectly when inserted into the PCIE slot, then I can rule out the mobo being the issue and it's either the GPU or the case that isn't designed properly in this respect. Gigabyte said it was normal (normal for them?) Is this a common issue with graphics cards and DisplayPort in general? Or just certain PC cases? Thanks in advance

Thanks Clamboy! I have ironically just ordered a mini-grinder so have pondered doing this although it might look a bit ugly without a respray but it would be functional. I showed FD pics over a month ago but they declined to comment. They must know it is an issue. The new R6 case has the same 'design feature' so they evidently aren't likely to change this aspect of their cases. The case is under warranty and I can still return it to the vendor for an exchange or refund, but the prospect of taking the whole thing to bits and reassembling it is not appealing lol. Is there another 'quiet' mid-Tower ATX case that can accept a 280mm front mounted radiator? Cheers.
