Hey guys,
Having an issue with hardware monitor displaying a high tmpin2 temp, it seems to match my CPU package temp when running prime95 but refreshes at a slower rate. Based off my basic research it seems tmpin2 on gigabyte boards is either vrm or chipset but this is based off of 5-10 year old forum posts. during prime95 i let the cpu reach 90c on purpose (which tmpin2 was matching) so i can touch around to quickly feel any heat but the vrm’s were cold and the chipset was hot but nowhere near 90c hot obviously. I cross referenced with HWINFO and the software was telling me that both the vrm and the chipset were under normal temps so im kinda confused here on what to believe. PC operates fine, no ramp up, no crashes.
Trying to figure out if TMPIN2 is just the cpu package temp in disguise or is it something else?
Basic hardware list (let me know if you need more):
Gigabyte UD AC z790
i7-13700k base clocks
ddr5 5600mhz
