I just upgraded my old P4, with AMD 7850 BE and GA-MA790GP-UD4H and Patriot memory. All else is the same and my system beeps like yours. With the cover off, I noticed that the CPU fan (came with the CPU), starts to spin but stops for a second or two, and then starts up again. All while the darn thing beeps at me. I don't know why but just assumed it was complaining about the fan. I have not overclocked it at all since it is just my local server.

This is the first Gigabyte I've used. Is that fan behavior and beeping standard for Gigabyte?
