GIGABYTE Ultra Fast Boot - Help with the BIOS

I built my desktop PC about a year ago, and was spoofing around the BIOS when I found something called ultra fast boot. I did a bit of research and saw that the computer would boot up so fast you wouldn't have any time to access the BIOS. I was wondering if there would be any way to access the BIOS after activating this feature?

Yes there is by going to run, msconfig, then go to boot tab. On right lower side you will see Timeout. Change that to 5, 10, 15, etc. will give you time to enter BIOS. That will get you back to the same as before ultra fast. It is defaulted to 30 for a normal boot.

Check your BIOS before doing this to make sure that your keyboard and mouse will work as some boards will also disable USB ports until the system fully loads. You can also change to a selective boot in the BIOS to keep your mouse and keyboard functional which will be slightly slower than the ultra fast boot.

Alright I understand the first paragraph, but not so much the 2nd. The BIOS does not use a mouse, and only my external keyboard. It is connected by USB, and normally it does work in the BIOS. Are you saying that if I change the timeout of the boot tab, it might disconnect the USB ports?

Ultra fast boot on some boards actually disables checking the USB ports until the OS loads. Llook in your BIOS under the fast boot option to make sure that it does not disable yours. It will usually tell you in the options what all it will not check for during fast boot such as USB , HDD, LAN, KB, mouse, etc. You can uncheck which ones you don't want to disable. Your BIOS may or may not have that option so you will have to check your board maker for information. I just wanted to give you a heads up that it IS possible so that you didn't freak out if it happened.
