XFX has a lifetime warranty which Gigabyte does not. While I don't have experience with their GPU's, their motherboards (Gigabyte) have always been junk to me. XFX GPU's have always been good. Just my 2 cents.
EDIT: XFX seems to have changed their warranty with the R9 3xx series and its no longer lifetime, unless the Model number ends in an R. Yes I agree that is strange. Looks like the R9 380X core edition is the only one with that Lifetime Warranty, probably says it on the box.
I have never had any issues with XFX, Their customer support has been fine for me. Gigabyte cards I have experience with but a windforce card will stay very cool. I would look at what the PCB has to offer, because frankly in terms of the build quality they both are pretty good. in that casse the Gigabyte one wins as it has 8 phase delivery versus 7 phases. but if you never OC much you will not notice. one thing to watch out for is elipda RAM which some XFX cards tend to have. it is fine until you try to OC it and then sometimes it simply never OCs much.
Both are respectable and well known manufacturers. According to newegg, there is a 3 year warranty on Gigabyte's R9 380X, while there is only a 2 year warranty on XFX's. But again, both are established and have fairly good customer service.

I stand corrected. According to XFX's website the 2 year warranty is extended to lifetime if the product is registered within 30 days of purchase BUT this does not extend to 300 series products.
