Gigabyte wifi card on maximus hero X (Z370)

Solution
The card will work on boards that have a CNVi slot on the board. Unfortunately your board has M.2 slots but they are meant for storage. You will need a board with the CNVi protocol to communicate with the wifi card you've linked.
I doubt it. Life was getting much simpler PCI slots were all standardized and things just worked. Now they are inventing all these different m.2 slots and we start all over again.

That card pretty clearly says it only works on gigabit motherboards even though it appear technically other boards could support it if they wanted.

thanks for clearing that up, yea i read somewhere that only the Z370 chipset doesnt support CNVi amongst the 300 series lineup, but i was unsure, you saved me a couple of bucks.

Also, is there any PCIe adapter that will support this?
