Gigabyte X79-UD3 "Stereo Mix" noise problem

I have a problem with my Realtek onboard sound card.

Specifically with the "Stereo Mix" capture device.
Whenever I record or listen to the "Stereo Mix" device it sounds like distorted noise! The device is not working properly.
I have the Gigabyte X79-UD3 motherboard with Realtek onboard audio.
I have tried the following drivers:
1. R2.70 from Gigabyte website
2. R2.73 from Realtek website
3. R3.75 from Gigabyte website
I am using windows 8.1 and I because of the problem I cannot record what I hear.

Can you please tell me how to fix it?

Try deleting the gigabyte utilities if you have any installed. Sometimes they cause problems with devices and hardware.

EDIT:
I would use the newest drivers from the gigabyte website. You might want to update all the MB drives while there.

Solved! Gigabyte suggested doing a BIOS upgrade. As soon as I did that the problem was fixed!
