Hello!

So a want to buy a new pc. I collected all parts, watched a lot of tests and its looked good. But before the purchase I found a few older forum commnets about the Gigabyte x99-ud4 motherboard and I canceled the purchase.
So around 2015 (according to the comments and my research) there was a lot of problem with the UD4 board when XMP was enabled, like boot loops and shutdowns at higher XMP profiles.
Since 2015 there was a a few BIOS updates for the motherboard, but i can't confirm if the XMP problem is still there. For RAM I want to buy G.SKILL 16GB Ripjaws V DDR4 3000MHz CL15 KIT F4-3000C15D-16GVRB.

I hope someone can help me if its safe to buy the UD4 board with this RAM, or its got solved with the BIOS updates. Or should i go with slower RAM.

Here is the complete setup:

CPU: INTEL Core i7-6800K 3.40GHz 2011-3
CPU cooler: COOLERMASTER Hyper 212X RR-212X-17PK-R1
RAM: G.SKILL 16GB Ripjaws V DDR4 3000MHz CL15 KIT F4-3000C15D-16GVRB
VGA: MSI GTX 1070 GAMING X 8G GTX1070 8GB GDDR5 PCIE
PSU: Thermaltake Berlin 630W
Case: FRACTAL DESIGN Define R5

I hope I'm not just too paranoid about this and it wasn't a noob question.

Thanks for any kind of help!

I checked Gskill's Compatible ram list.
I think I will replace UD4 with the MSI X99A Tomahawk since it's looks better in specs.
One of my problems is that both (and almost every X99 board) recomends Quad kit RAMs.
I'm not mentioned im my first post that I'm buying SSDs, HDDs, upgrading my OS, etc and I'm running out of money. So that's why I choosed the 2x8GB RAM and hoped that later I can buy another 2x8GB from the same RAM and I can use 2x 2x8 with the Quad channel support. But it seems that there is no 100% chance they will work perfectly together as Quad channeled RAMs.
And there is another problem. In my country/region there is no available Ram with 3000 MHz with CL5 in 4x4 kit from G.Skill. There are a few exception but they are higher than CL15.
I'm frequently searching for F4-3000C15Q, but resellers always out of stock, and the Pre-order time is huuuge ( i can't wait 4-8 weeks for the RAM to arrive 🙁 ). Maybe I need to drop G.Skill and find another manufacturer for RAM, or try the 2x 2x8 GB and pray for succes.
