Hello everyone! I recently updated my bios from F3 to F22a. I've also reset the bios settings too. As the title states, if i hit restart (from windows) or the reset button, the board takes about a minute (it's a blank screen) before the gigabyte logo shows and starts posting/boot process. When starting the computer from a power off state, the post happens almost immediately as normal (gigabyte logo shows up fast)

The hardware hasnt changed so something must have happened since the bios update. Does anyone have an idea on why this might be happening? THanks!

Solution
Try testing ram with memtest86.
A delay is sometimes caused by the motherboard not liking the ram settings and trying to find something that works.

i have hibernate disabled so it should not be doing that. Also, the delay seems to be at the time point after the computer powers on but before the point where motherboard gigabyte logo pops up. Once that logo pops up, it posts and windows starts up fast. (the same happens with macOS. This happens only on restarts (i.e. windows restart or even saving BIOS settings and hitting restart from bios)

When starting from a cold boot, the logo pops up immediately and everything is normal.

Id have to look into it but it seems very counterintuitive seeing how it takes a minute for anything to even show up on the screen. Also, it started right after a bios update too. My windows 10 install hasnt been updated since the initial release of Win10 and i rarely boot into Windows.

When you updated the bios, you would have reset the bios settings to default.
Check to see if there are any options such as testing ram that you can disable.
Also, it takes time to detect that there might not be boot media in a dvd or to initialize a non used adapter.

I think ive narrrowed it down to the RAM. When i turn off the XMP profile1, everything is good. I guess ill have to figure out what part of XMP is causing this board to stall only on restarts
