Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 7 vs. Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero
Which one is better? I want to do some overclocking and want black/red more than white/red.
If you have any changes to my build please suggest?

Solution
I would definitely go with the ASUS on this one, specially if your considering overclocking..
One thing, hold on the VGA buying, 390 will be replaced by 480 at lower price at the end of this month!

Does the 480 have better performance? I want to max out games at 60 fps. I also learn to do some 3d modelling and animation. How much VRAM does the 480 have?

Agreed with ohenryy; I recently got my ASUS VIII Hero so maybe I am a little biased but so far there have been no issues. I've done a lot of testing and so far the following features might appeal to you:
- fantastic onboard audio
- simple to setup BIOS system
- high potential for overclocking ability
- great individual fan control
- well-designed board layout (I've heard of others having issues fitting specific GPUs on the Gaming boards
- excellent vrm + phase cooling
- for aesthetics there is also awesome cosmetic lighting & gold plated audio jacks with colored shells
- usb 3.1 and usb c
My personal desires in a motherboard was a solid in-built sound card and personal modding (overclocking/ease of BIOS use) so I've mainly just focused on those when I bought my board.
