Others have added a water block to the mobo in the past I.e. Asus on the 1150 Formula, it's sort of a gimmick thing, it's sort of throwing good money away, but some want to watercool everything, even DRAM ( 😉 )
Nothing HAS to be watercooled, and water cooling motherboards is a very niche thing that not a lot of people do, im surprised gigabyte includes a block built in on that board. Not really much of a point either unless you are doing extreme overcloking, the VRM's on these skylake boards don't get hot enough to really warrant water cooling.

thanks guys I was pretty sure it wasnt a must with these motherboards but didnt want to buy 1 then have to sell it again because I need to watercool a board that doent run hot...

Yep, don't want to waste money if not needed, never know though, maybe down the road you'll want to, or it can be a boon as far as resale value
