Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI cant access 2TB HDD but a different MO can

Just assembly a new win10 PC with MO Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI and 1 SSD, 2 HDD. Z170XP recognize all HDDs, but cannot access 2TB one. Old machine can read/write this HDD though.
Any idea?
Also must I buy the identical HDD to set up RAID1?

EDIT:
Another MO is Asus P5N32-E and even it can detect the HDD and read/write to it, there is not much data shown in DiskCheckup besides size and basic info, not even the read/write speed. Is this HDD failing?

Another thing you could try is getting that HDD connected to a different computer and monitor its behavior there. Check if it will get properly recognized. If you have a SATA-to-USB cable with an adapter or a docking station, you could also attempt troubleshooting it externally.
I'd strongly recommend you to make sure that the drive is okay and check up on the detailed SMART attributes of the drive before trusting any data with it, even if it's just a backup storage.

I'd recommend you to use your HDD manufacturer's brand-specific diagnostic tool to check up on the health and SMART status of the drive from there. You'd also be able to benchmark them with the current results. Since the HDD is accessible from the other computer, it's possible that you're simply encountering some ownership issues. Regarding your RAID 1 question, you should definitely consider getting an identical HDD. Configuring this array with different drives would not only limit both capacities to the smallest one, but the RAID would also perform at the speed rate of the slowest HDD in the array. Either way, keep in mind that RAID configurations are not a backup solution, so make sure you always have a spare external or some other storage device where you can keep a copy of your most precious data.

Thanks very much for your detailed answer. Z170 MO complains "device is not ready" so cannot even take the ownership. Speedfan and http://www.hddstatus.com give more SMART info and see the drive as healthy.
HDD manufacturer HGST tool "fitness test" only see WD HDD, not the other 2 HDD including this Hitachi 2TB.
If no other way, I have to buy another HDD and use this one for backup disk.
