Gigabyte z270x Ultra Gaming and SATA Express

This motherboard only has 2 standard SATA ports but I was hoping to have 3 drives and an optical drive, but that isn't critical. I have a Samsung 850 Evo as a primary, and an 850 Pro and WD Black hdd from an older system (that's why the Pro isn't the primary).

Can I actually run all 3 of those at the same time?

Doing my first build in a long time, the last rig I built had an AGP video card.

The board has 6 x SATA 6Gb/s connectors. Check the board's manual. You can use any of them.

The Gigabyte Z270X Ultra Gaming has six (6) "standard" SATA ports - not two (2) as you mentioned.

Said three (3) SATA drives, i.e., Samsung 850 EVO, Samsung 850 Pro, and WD Black, will easily fit and you can run all 3 at the same time. You an even add an optical drive with SATA connection for a total of four (4) at the same time and still be left with two (2) available slots.

Thanks, I was having a derp moment. I was thinking the right angeled ports were only SATA Express and the two vertical, non-Express ports were the only ones I could use.
