ok so I'm planning on making a couple of upgrades on my PC and I wont make the same mistake again last year. (didn't do research before getting parts. just went out and buy stuff.)

so I was checking my motherboard support page and I stumbled upon this "RAM/Memory support list" I didn't know there was such a thing. So I searched the list on what RAM I plan to get. I did like 4-5 search and most of the rams I was planning on buying is not on the list. so I checked the ram installed on my motherboard now it is not on the list either Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB Dual DDR4 2400Mhz CL14 (CMK8GX4M2A2400C14) but it is working fine. so what gives ? is this list accurate ? sorry I'm not really techie as i used to.

the rams I'm planning on buying
*GSkill Ripjaws V 16GB Dual DDR4 2400Mhz CL15 (F4-2400C15D-16GVR)
*GSkill Ripjaws V 16GB dual DDR4 2800Mhz CL15 (F4-2800C15D-16GVRB)
*Corsair Vengeance LED 16GB Dual DDR4 2666Mhz CL16 (CMU16GX4M2A2666C16R) red

the one that is actually on the list. but the computer i go to has limited stocks so I always have to have a backup parts before i actually go to their physical store.
*Gskill Ripjaws V 16GB Dual DDR4 3200Mhz (F4-3200C16D-16GVKB)

Also If i get a RAM that is RGB (i know my motherboard does not support rgb fusion. one mistake i made when i got this board) will the led light still lights up ? i mean i know i wont have control over the rgb.
the RGB I want. wanted to buy it so when the time comes for me to switch motherboard rgb ram is ready.
Gigabyte Aorus RGB 16GB Dual DDR4 3200 CL16 (GP-AR32C16S8K2SU416R)

The QVL's aren't even close to having everything that is compatible, only a few that they've tested. As for which ones to get with Intel the speed makes very little difference at least in gaming so going with a 2666mhz kit would be perfectly fine if the price is much less then the 3000/3200 options. The LED will work on that board but I'm not too sure about the RGB, it may only come up with the stock light, whatever that may be. There might be some software to control it but I'm not too sure.

oh cool thanks ! yeah I was planning on going for the 2666 or 2800 since the price difference from 2400 is just around $10 here in our country.

as for the RGB ram i was a bit hesitant at first thinking maybe the entire ram wont work if i used it on my board. but yeah if the ram works and LED works that is great for now. I'll worry about the control later or until i change motherboard :)

thanks will do that now ! :wahoo:
