Gigabyte Z370N-WIFI , Intel Wireless-AC 8265 connectivity issue

I just put a new system together last night and everything on it is working just fine... except for the onboard wireless.

When I first installed Windows, the wireless was working just fine until it started doing updates. After rebooting, the wireless had a red X on it and couldn't find any networks. Tried uninstalling/re-installing the driver, toggling airplane mode on/off, verifying the antennas are connected properly(even tried different antennas). I ended up re-installing Windows and again... wireless working just fine until reboot. I tried uninstalling Windows updates, but that still did not fix the issue.

I then took the PC into the next room and plugged it into the router via the ethernet jack. Internet is working just fine. I then unplugged the ethernet jack and the wireless was working fine. Once I powered down the desktop and took it back to the room it's intended to be in, the wireless stopped working again.

No other PC's/devices are having issues connecting to the internet here(wired or wireless). The router is a Netgear Nighthawk AC1750 and the firmware is up to date.

Any help is appreciated. thank you

[EDIT] Have been using a USB AC1900 adapter and that at least is working fine. Still can't get the built in Wifi to work normally.
