Hello everyone. Today I turned off my pc, went to sleep, and when I woke up I saw that my pc is turned on. I checked Windows event log, and saw some errors regarding power error. So, I turned PC off from the button, and it reboots instead of shutdown when I press power button. Shutdown the system from the Start menu was fine.

So, i tried to shut down PC from bios, and after that it stops booting. The lights and fans turns on, then off, and goes to the endless loop. No image, post, or MOBO logo.

I opened my case, tried to check ram one by one slot, reseated CPU, GPU, but no luck. It keeps rebooting with no image, even speaker is not working. Resetting battery and CMOS doesn't help either. The lights on the MOBO blinks in order like DRAM > BOOT > CPU > VGA, then reboot and again.

There was one lucky shot though. When i placed one of my RAM sticks to third slot, it boots after some loops to windows, but when i turned it off the problem still remains. I thought for a second that was a faulty ram, but again with this stick plugged in it keeps rebooting.

My setup:

Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Elite

CPU i5 9600kf without OC

RAM Crusial Ballistix 8x2

PSU SuperFlower 750w silver

GPU RTX 2070S Gigabyte

Windows 10 20H2, BIOS F10c version from the start

I bought my PC in april, and there was no issues whatsoever, no BSODs or anything.

Would appreciate any help in advance!

ive had a similar problem once and it turned out to be a faulty power button, also a faulty PSU can cause a reboot/shutdown loop.
I jumped MOBO with my screwdriver and reboot loop remains.

I had some problems back in the day with my old PC setup, where PSU just died after shutdown and PC won't start even after jumping motherboard manually. So i doubt the faulty PSU, because this model has some protection from that issues, and voltages was alright when i checked them last time.

Do you have the Gigabyte AppCenter installed ? I have read reports in which this App was responsible for a similar behavior..
Try to uninstall if you manage to boot somehow.
And what Bios version ? Did you upgrade recently ?
I don't have this app installed.

Bios version f10c, i updated bios six months ago, straight after i built my pc from the box

I have some update on my problem.

Last saturday i went to the store where i bought my PC parts with motherboard, CPU and RAM installed in. They tested everything on the test bench, and it boots normally with their PSU. No bent legs on CPU socket or anything either. They adviced me to try build my PC outside the case, because it can make some short curcuits.
Few days before that, I tested my SuperFlower PSU on the old PC and it worked perfectly well, with no reboots.

Yesterday I tried to build my setup outside the case, to make sure that the case or power button is not a culprit. I got three normal boots from the screwdriver, and after that when I turned off my PSU and turn it back on, the boot loops returned again! I changed the battery on MOBO to the new one, jumped CMOS manually, disconnected one of my M2 drives, cleaned the RAM and even tried to boot with my old GPU. Still the same problem. Besides, when i finally managed to boot, I checked voltages with SuperFlower PSU on Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Elite motherboard using OCCT and AIDA64, everything was fine like brand new.
Updating BIOS with latest version from Gigabyte website doesn't do any help either.

I start to think it's the PSU after all or maybe MOBO doing this mess, but I need some advice to make sure that. Sadly i can't test this setup with my old 650W PSU, because it doesn't have all the pins for the GPU and CPU to connect with.
If someone know how to solve this, I will be very thankful!

Well, this problem is came back 2 years after that.
Back in the day, I managed to solve it with Power Dummy setting in BIOS, and it worked flawlessly two years in a row. But regardless, boot loop striked again, and this time I'm starting to lose any hope.

So, about a week ago i turned off my PC, and on the next day after the cold boot it starts boot looping again. Like I pushing power button, fans spinning for 2-3 secs and everything turning off, then again and again. MOBO leds blinks in order CPU>DRAM and then the cycle repeats.

Tried to clean and re-seat RAM, cleaned GPU PCI-E connector, changed screws for motherboard, CMOS clear, battery change - no luck whatsoever. But in some testing, i managed to discover that one of my RAM sticks is died. Checked them at my work office with new MOBO, and one of them turned out dead for sure.

Remembering my problem, i tried to jump motherboard power pins with screwdriver, and somehow it started with no loops.
I left my PC this way, without any connections to pin-out on MOBO, but after I turned PC off to install new RAM kit which I ordered this week, it boot loops like nothing changed. Needless to say, I grabbed this new RAM sticks to my work office for testing and it works for good.
Sadly, I didn't had enough time to test everything outside the case. but I moved it to this weekend. I still hoping for faulty power button on my case, so I ordered new Fractal Design one preventively. But if I'm wrong, is there any chance that my motherboard is dying already? I can't RMA it sadly, but I can RMA those new case and RAM if the last one is not compatible with my board (PVS416G400C6K model).

I appreciate any help and advice if someone faced and solved that problem. Thanks.

Update.
I checked my warranty for this motherboard, and luckily it hasn't expired yet! So i brought MB to the shop, they checked it with their parts and confirmed that she is dead. I got a refund for motherboard and new case. After that, I bought new MSI Z390 MAG Tomahawk motherboard, and everything works flawlessly. No boot loops, no coil whines from MOBO which caused me buying external audio card to resolve static buzz in my headphones, nothing. Even this RAM with 4000MHz frequency worked out with XMP profile straight out from the box.
Big thumbs down with this Gigabyte mobo for sure...
