Hi,

I need to update my Aorus Z390 bios as I'm having some GPU fan issues (and b/c of a security update). In the past I was warned not to go anywhere near Gigabyte's @ bios utility and to just do it manually using QFlash (which I did with no problem). However that was a few years ago now.

So basically is @ bios still hot unreliable garbage or is it okay to use now?

If anyone who is familiar with @ bios can tell me whether safe to use now or whether I should play it safe and use Q flash instead would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Its safer to use the in bios method to update a BIOS than to do it in windows.

I have used Q Flash on every update I have done on current motherboard.

Okay thanks, I'll use Q Flash again then. I was told not to go near @bios in the past, but I haven't really kept up to date so thought maybe it was preferable now.

fun fact, a user here is called bios and everytime you type @ bios it sends them a message... or would, I don't think forums has their contact info anymore. I edited your original post to fix it there. Its no big deal, just funny.

Newer Gigabyte boards have Q Flash+ now which allows you to flash bios with only PSU attached, no need for a monitor. You use a special USB port on motherboard - https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_x570-features.pdf
